What Colorjet doesn’t enjoy is probably (only), the privilege of having the tag of a 90’s baby. However, the honor of being the largest manufacturer of inkjet printers in India, recognition by the Department of Science and Technology of its flawless Research and Development and the receipt of the ‘TV100 Industrial Excellence Award 2018’, more or less, compensate for it. Launched in 2004, Colorjet has taken the fabric industry of India by a ‘hue’-ristic storm!
Colorjet has extraordinarily created a huge manufacturing establishment in India. While ambitious production takes place on the Indian soil, the company doesn’t fail to combine competition with conservation. Not only does it believe in staying ahead of its game in terms of innovation but also ensures that it plays clean. The production by Colorjet and its consumers is resource and cost-effective.
In an exclusive interview, Mr. Jitender Pal Singh, Head – Textile Business, Colorjet India, said: “Colorjet prides itself in designing machines with the highest productivity per litre of water, prints with aqueous based inks, and easy prints on natural polyester-based fabrics.”
While the installations of 4,000+ systems in 14+ countries across the world may appear to be the USP of Colorjet to many, the following factors keep them off from the products of competitors:
- The provision of a complete range of solutions like printing machines, software inks, consumables, spareparts or upgrades.
- The offering of modular machines with retro-fitting eligibility for higher production.
- The arrangement of dual-ink systems on the same machine for flexibility.
- The upgrade with sublimation inks that prevents solubility, damage and colorfastness.
- The satisfaction of an optimal price-performance ratio.
- The supply of machines up to 320 cm nominal width and speed that ranges from 20 sq.m. / hour to 200 sq.m. / hour.
- The availability of pre-solutions and post-solutions.
- The solutions that cater to all; Direct to Fabric; Roll to Roll, Digital Inkjet Printing, and more.
Not only has the company been conceived on the Indian soil, but it also continues to thrive on it. Even with newer business additions to the market, digital ink printing demand in India never dies. Surat comprises 70% of the textile industry in the country. Surat or the Manchester of India is currently reviving from the blow of the recent Government policy updates, but Colorjet still maintains its focus on Gujarat and Maharashtra as these States have great potential in terms of textile production. Surat has the highest installed base of direct-to-fabric machines by Colorjet.
There is no better judge than a consumer and there is no better verdict than that of the consumer itself. The following are a few testimonials from our very own jury..
RJ Digital Printing
Mr. Chandresh Dadiya, founder of RJ Digital Printing takes immense pride in narrating his hustle story in the textile industry and sheds light on how its companion “Colorjet made it possible for me to run a successful business venture and sustain well in a GST-stricken market while the rivals faded away into oblivion.”
RJ Digital Printing was an idea that came out of great thought accumulated by Mr. Dadiya during his teaching days as a professor. A graduate of B.Chem and a Master of Production from Pune, the founder couldn’t let his monotonous job-routine hold his ambitious attention for more than a year. As he finally decided to find out his true calling, his tryst with the resourceful city of Surat landed him on the unexplored sector of a goldmine.
After careful inspection of the waters he was about to set sail in, Mr. Dadiya inferred that he’d work his digital magic on the fabric of cotton. Cotton was rarely ever experimented with digital printing, and this rarity was exactly what he banked upon. He reviewed everything that the Textile Industry Solution Providers had to offer and made an informed decision of choosing the best that there was – Colorjet! The only investment he could make two years ago became the only investment he had to make for a successful business venture even now. The rarity of digital printing on cotton and the lack of quality work by the rivals were remedied in Mr. Dadiya’s new business model.
Currently, at 15,000 meters/month capacity of output, RJ Digital Prints is seeping into the export market and establishing roots like never before, and this the founder attributes to the durable and efficient solutions by Colorjet which not only break the foreign monopoly of companies but also boosts the ‘Make in India’ movement. The make of Colorjet machinery is only equal to, if not better than its foreign counterparts, and the availability of engineers and spareparts for reparations is a cherry on top. Mr. Dadiya aims at establishing a fully operational mill in his five-year plan. This is his faith and goodwill with the Colorjet family.
Vishwa Creations
“Colorjet or nothing” is the thought process of Mr. Vijaybhai, who, at the time of the inception of his company three years ago, couldn’t even process the thought of going ahead with this struggle-some market and was tempted to sell off the only digital print machine by Colorjet that he owned. Vishwa Creations has come a long way from taking the leap from embroidery work to digital printing job works and the near encounter with the renouncement of it all to producing an output of 40,000 meters/month with a 24-hour schedule. The idea of wanting to sell Colorjet once seems very absurd to Mr. Vijay as he marvels at the upgraded performance of his second addition to the Colorjet family.
Vishwa Creations caters to the printing demands of the digital nature on cotton outside of Surat where its niche market lies. Within a matter of three years, the company is redefining run-to-the-mill production as its machinery runs 24 hours a day in the mill to meet quality demand with minimal or no wear and tear. The pace and quality of production are ever increasing in this aggressive market, but with Colorjet, Vishwa Creations is well ahead of the game.
It was one thing to see the scope in digital printing in hindsight and another to actually realize it in the present. But Vishwa Creations has acquired it all. The company aims to follow the same pursuit of scope in the years to come and only then take expansion into consideration.
RK Digital Printers
Long before there was a Surat to claim the title of being the textile hub of India, there existed the city of Pali in Rajasthan where textiles was the unmatched economy and culture. Hailing from the land of textiles, Mr. Padam D. Bokadiya knew the art of the same since his childhood. However, Pali soon fell victim to the recession, and the migration of many began. The pilot of this story may have been an unfortunate one, but the story that continues in its 8th year is filled with fortune. RK Digital Printers is now an everything-under-one-roof umbrella body that has a remarkable output of 2,00,000-3,00,000 meters per month.
RK Digital Printers is now catering to bigwig boutiques, fashion houses, fashion designers and more. It takes great pleasure in being an all-inclusive company with an Airjet Jacquard for weaving, a ready for dyeing plant for viscose, and a dyeing plant with jets, stenters, etc. The company treats, dyes and prints all kinds of garments that the market demands. With a 30% increase in business every year, the company is highly optimistic about its future.
There have been highs and lows like the GST implementation for the company, but what remained consistent for almost a decade is its reliable association with Colorjet. When Mr. Padam made his first purchase of Colorjet, little did he know that it was a modest beginning to a partnership this durable. Asked about why he made the choice of Colorjet, he responds by pointing out the superior quality orientation of the Colorjet products.
He added: “It isn’t the same buying and selling of machinery anymore; the commitment of Colorjet, their co-operation and support has now started to feel like family”. According to a staff of 80 people, the machines have never disappointed in 8 years, its durability and timely follow-ups have ensured flawless and uninterrupted operations for as long as RK Digital Printers have existed.
GST knocked a solid 30% chunk out of the annual turnover of RK Digital Printers, but a sizeable if not all of that chunk has been rapidly recovered. With this magnitude of progress in its area of operation, Mr. Patam isn’t to be blamed when he aspires to include every procedure, right from stitching to selling, in his factory operations.
Colorjet is one of the smartest players in the market, and it adopts means ethical to always be one step ahead of its rivals, maintaining cordial relationship with its customers. An analysis of the Indian market scenario has led Colorjet to believe that investments are on the rise in the textile sector with enough opportunities for further growth.
Digital printing has now become to textiles what touchscreen is to smartphones. This has subsequently resulted in the emergence of many relevant business ventures which have proven to be potential customers. “To become the most recognized and trusted Indian company in the digital printing industry globally” is the vision that drives Mr. J.P. Singh, Head – Textile of Colorjet.
Colorjet is on the right track, building on its most formidable assets, its brand, financial strength, global reach, unrivalled distribution system, etc.
