City Leaves’ another successful Knit Show

Over the years, Knit Show has emerged one of the leading trade shows in the country. Focused on the garments and textiles, the trade show that started in 2000 with 100 stalls has now grown into a major trade exhibition with 500 stalls in the 2015 edition, which was held at Tirupur during August 9-11. Organized by City Leaves, a leading media house that is into publishing service directories of the textile and its allied industries, the show was inaugurated by Dr. A. Sakthivel, President, Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA).

An extensive variety of products were on display at the event, ranging from textile accessories to the latest textile machinery, waste water treatment plants and textile printing inks. The event, spread over a sprawling area of 90,000 sq.ft. of exhibition space, attracted participants from far and wide. While a majority of the exhibitors were from India, there was also participation from countries such as China, Japan, Portugal and Poland.

According to Mr. H. Krishna, Director, City Leaves, the number of footfalls have been increasing exponentially every year at the event. Going into details, he said: Knit Show 2015 attracted around 20,000 visitors. “We are very happy with the response. Every year the number of exhibitors as well as visitors has been going up steadily. The number of new participants in the area of digital textile printing machines alone had gone up by 15, and it was the same case with other product categories too where the number of exhibitors has increased over the last year.”

Buoyed by the response to Knit Show 2015, he said the organizers were eagerly looking forward to the Tex Tech Show to be held in Karur and Madurai shortly.

He also expressed optimism about the continued good show of the apparel industry in Tirupur.
