A textile machinery symposium took place in the Iranian capital Teheran recently, the first German event of this type in the past 10 years, organized by the German VDMA. With about 600 guests each day, the symposium was very well attended and showed clearly the interest in German textile machinery and its good reputation. The event was inaugurated by Ms. Golnar Nasrollahi, GM, Textile & Garment Department, Ms. Regina Brückner, Chairwoman, VDMA Association for Textile Machinery and Mr. Mi-chael von Ungern-Sternberg, German Ambassador.
Almost 40 technology presentations were made in the symposium. Brückner participated with a paper about innovative technologies regarding the thermal treatment of textiles, after which the guests had the opportunity to exchange views and compare notes with the representatives of the German companies. It was clearly perceivable that there is a lot of unsatisfied demand in technological know-how and investments in Iran and a great general interest in German plants and lines with high quality standards. This is a clear opportunity for Brückner with its production site in Germany to score in comparison with its competitors.
Most of the visitors were decision-makers of private textile and carpet producers. Many of these companies do actually need spare parts and after-sales service but are also interested in investing in new machines. The Iranian Textile Minister, Ms. Nasrollahi emphasized in her opening speech that it is one of the targets of the Iranian government to stimulate the exports of the textile industry. Due to the political sanctions recently, Iranian companies could only buy Asian machines and lines. Now the prospects seem to be good for German machinery suppliers to regain market shares.
Since decades Brückner is leading in the development and the production of finishing lines for the textile industry. The company offers individual solutions for coating and finishing of technical textiles, nonwovens, floor covering and classical garment textiles. In addition it has energy saving systems such as heat-recovery or ex-haust air cleaning systems in its product portfolio. It also accompanies its customer with advisory service during the complete project phase and beyond.
