The Belgium-based Bonas Textile Machinery, inventor of the electronic jacquard machine, is the market leader in India and other countries. No doubt, the adjustable terry warp separator, possible only on Bonas, plays an important role in this company achievement.
Weaving pile errors, also known in some countries as Reverse Terry, is the formation of pile on the wrong side of the terry fabric. This phenomenon often appears when weaving bobbin dyed yarns as they are characterized by a more fibrous outlook.
Due to multiple pile and ground ends in one reed dent, it may occur that the pile, which should be formed on the backside of the fabric, is pulled up to the front by the neighboring yarns moving upwards.
This is very disturbing in case pile ends of different colors are used for making the design. As shown in the picture, white pile ends are pulled to the front on the fabric, resulting in white “spots” or “reverse half loops” on the blue surface. Such defects, however, do not occur on Bonas jacquards.
One of the possibilities of the terry warp separator is to give an additional separation of ground and pile ends to allow easier crossing in the reed dent at different timings.
An independent adjustment between the first and last heddle of pile as well as the first and last heddle of ground is possible and very easy to adjust simply by adjusting some screws until the optimal shed position is reached. No tilting of the jacquard is needed as it only disturbs a correct shed formation.
This is not the only benefit of Bonas jacquards for terry applications. The 100 per cent electronic selection mechanism is developed to run perfectly in dusty environments, grease free and is temperature independent. Cold start problems are unknown to Bonas, and high quality fabric is made from the first to the last pick.
Bonas jacquard machines are driven by a two-sided, well-balanced drive mechanism, allowing a perfect vertical movement of the knives. The low center of gravity assures minimal vibrations, even at high speed. Besides sinusoidal, several flexible shed opening times are possible allowing optimal insertion time.
Hook capacities from 1,344 for multiple repeats to 6,144 hooks for single repeat harnesses are covered by the ZJ and LJ range.
Individual part exchange considerably reduces the amount of consumables as you only need to exchange the defected part and not a whole set of components. In case service is needed, you can rely on the skilled Bonas engineers, proceeding from Bonas Textile Machinery – India based in Thane.
Adding the benefit of lowest total power consumption, Bonas jacquards are the best choice for weaving terry fabrics as the majority of Indian terry weavers already know.
