New 3 locally-produced compressors launched
Atlas Copco, a world-leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions, has announced its plan of doubling the capacity of its plant in Hyderabad and launching three new locally produced compressors. The company will invest Rs. 70 crores to double the manufacturing capacity of the Hyderabad plant. The expansion will be completed by year-end and the plant will be fully operational by March 2017. The project will set up a world-class R&D test centre for the company’s rock drilling products, enabling Atlas Copco to truly help its Indian customers increase their productivity. The expansion will generate employment for 35 persons.
In the coming months, the Hyderabad plant is scheduled to introduce new items such as rotary products for oil and gas application, products for hard metal mining and innovative deep-hole drilling machines to cater to Indian and African markets.
Atlas Copco President & CEO Ronnie Leten said: “We intend to take further collaborative steps in line with the Indian Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
