Arvind Ltd., one of the largest integrated textile and branded apparel players, recorded revenue of Rs. 1,325 crores and net profit after tax of Rs. 65 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2012, as against Rs. 1,254 crores and Rs. 62 crores respectively for the quarter ended September 30, 2011. At the operating level, consolidated EBIDTA for the quarter stood at Rs. 165 crores.
During the quarter, textile business grew by 13 per cent, driven by 25 per cent volume growth in shirting fabric and four per cent volume growth in denim fabric. Brands & retail business grew by six per cent in very challenging market conditions.
Commenting on the results as well as outlook of the company, Mr. Jayesh Shah, Director & Chief Financial Officer, said: “The business scenario is moderately bullish as international demand is strong. We are satisfied that margins in both Textile and Brands & Retail business are now witnessing upward movement. We see further volume growth in our shirting fabrics and much better 3rd quarter for Brands & Retail business as Diwali festival this year is falling in the month of November.”
