The upcoming edition of Techtextil, to be held in Frankfurt from June 11 to 13, will feature around 40 Italian textile machinery manufacturers. Thirteen of these companies will be exhibiting their knowhow at Meeting Point Italia, an exhibition space set up by the ICE, the Italian Trade Promotion Agency, and ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers.
The companies which will be exhibiting at the ICE-ACIMIT meeting point are BIANCO, BOMBI, BONINO, CORINO, DELL’ORCO, ERREBI, FERRARO, GEMATA, RAMINA, RATTI, SASPE, STALAM and SMIT.
Technical textiles and nonwovens are gaining in importance in the global textile industry. In some advanced countries, technical textiles remain the sole growth driver for local textile manufacturers. For years now, this booming sector has seen double figure growth rates, and the basis for its development has undoubtedly been innovation, which represents the thread that unites textile companies engaged in this niche market with technology providers.
“The Italian textile machinery industry is currently highly committed to supporting companies producing technical textiles, and developing new and innovative products”, affirms Salmoiraghi, President of ACIMIT. “Versatility and a capacity to rapidly adapt to the market’s changing needs have always been a hallmark of Italian technology. This is why Italian businesses will once again be making their mark in Frankfurt this year”.
About 100 Italian textile machinery manufacturers are involved in the production of machinery for technical textiles or nonwovens. This sector is witnessing a growing turnover, accounting for 20 per cent on the total turnover of Italian textile machinery industry. In ACIMIT a section is devoted to technical textiles and nonwovens where visitors can find a club directory, including a non-exhaustive list of member-companies manufacturing machinery for technical textiles and nonwoven fabrics.
ACIMIT represents an industrial sector comprising around 300 companies and 12,200, producing machinery for a value of 2.4 billion euros, with exports amounting to 83 per cent of total sales.
Creativity, sustainable technology, reliability and quality are the characteristics which have made Italy a global leader in textile machinery manufacturing.
