Upholding a promise of unparalleled comfort, Indo Count crafts high-quality, luxurious bedding solutions in its advanced manufacturing facilities situated in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, and Bhilad, Gujarat.
Mr. Anil Jain, Executive Chairman of Indo Count, envisions a journey defined by innovation and sustainability. He remarks, “In every thread, we weave innovation and comfort, offering customers an experience that goes beyond the ordinary. Our dedication to delivering the finest quality products remains unwavering.”
The product repertoire of Indo Count encompasses a wide range, spanning bed sheets, bed linen, and quilts. It also includes premium sheet sets, fashion bedding, utility bedding, and institutional bedding. The products stand as a testament to the company’s commitment to international quality standards, a dedication recognized by prestigious certifications, showcasing Indo Count’s relentless pursuit of customer satisfaction.
An omnichannel presence for the branded portfolio, both owned and licensed, showcases the company’s adaptability to evolving market trends. Recently, Indo Count has cemented two licensed brand tie-ups, partnering with Jasper Conran and Gaiam, with plans to expand this portfolio in the future. This approach resonates with the company’s intent to diversify its global footprint beyond its dominant presence in the US. Mr. Anil Jain explains, “We are actively working to broaden our reach in the EU, UK, and Australia, embodying our mission to embrace global diversity.”
Capacity Expansion
In pursuit of growth, Indo Count strategically acquired the home textile division of GHCL, a prominent player in the Indian home textile sector. This strategic move not only enhances the company’s capacity but also ushers in new avenues of untapped customer bases.
The company’s recent capex initiatives have played a pivotal role in augmenting its capabilities. Notably, the modernization of the Gokul Shirgaon spinning capacity through compact spinning technology demonstrates Indo Count’s commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation. The incorporation of an additional 68,000-spindle spinning capacity, coupled with Compact spinning technology, is in its final stages and is anticipated to commence operations this fiscal year.
Furthermore, Indo Count’s expansion of home textile capacity at the Kolhapur facility, along with the establishment of complementary sewing facilities and TOB (top of the bed) capacity, marks significant achievements. This expansion has already seen successful commercial production initiation in the fourth quarter of FY23.
In the realm of synergy, Indo Count’s acquisition of the Home Textile Business of GHCL, including its Bhilad manufacturing facility, propels the company to become a global leader in home textile bed linen. This strategic move is poised to generate substantial growth in both revenue and profitability, solidifying Indo Count’s pivotal role in the industry.
Mr. Anil Jain emphasizes, “The seamless integration of our acquisitions and the harmony of our product mix across plants are remarkable achievements. The positive response from our customers reflects their trust in our expanded offerings. We are confident that these efforts will fuel our next phase of growth.”
Brand Strategy
Indo Count’s brand strength is further underscored by the success of its existing portfolio. Mr. Anil Jain proudly states, “Our ten active brands have not only performed exceedingly well but have also adapted to evolving trends. The launch of Jasper Conran, which gained significant traction in the UK and beyond, exemplifies our brand’s global appeal.”
In tandem with its commitment to innovation, Indo Count introduced GAIAM, a globally recognized health and wellness brand, at the 2022 September Home Textiles Market Week in New York City. The company plans to launch GAIAM products in-store and online across the US, Canada, and Mexico through retail partnerships in Spring 2023.
Sustainability
Environmental sustainability holds a prominent place in Indo Count’s corporate ethos. Recognizing the urgency of climate change, Mr. Anil Jain asserts, “Climate change is a defining challenge of our era, demanding immediate action.” Indo Count has seamlessly integrated sustainability into its business model, viewing every strategy through a sustainable lens. This commitment has yielded remarkable results, with Higg Index scores of 90.6% versus the global benchmark of 59% for Home Textiles. The company’s water conservation and recycling efforts have earned praise from esteemed entities like Hohenstein, Germany.
Participation in United Nations Global Compact India and Accenture’s CEO Study on Sustainability further underlines Indo Count’s dedication. Looking ahead, the company aims to achieve raw material traceability across the supply chain, strengthening its sustainability commitments.
The future outlook for Indo Count is marked by optimism and resilience. Mr. Anil Jain asserts, “With a positive external environment and our strong product offerings and team, we anticipate robust growth ahead.” Bolstered by a healthy order book, the company is poised to increase the revenue from value-added businesses by around 50% over the previous year, further enriching its stakeholder value.
In the long run, Indo Count’s focus will remain on optimizing its assets to elevate the company to new heights of excellence. Mr. Anil Jain concludes, “Our journey is guided by innovation, sustainability, and a commitment to deliver value to all stakeholders.” With this vision in place, Indo Count continues to write its story of success, setting new benchmarks in the textile industry.
