In expressing his excitement, Mr. Mishra stated, “It is a privilege to lead such a reputable organization with a rich legacy of excellence and innovation. I look forward to building on our successes and driving sustained growth and value creation for our stakeholders.”

AMANN Group, with headquarters in Germany, has been an international leader in sewing and embroidery threads for over a century. Renowned for high-quality, intelligent products and solutions, AMANN has built a portfolio of premium threads for varied applications, from fashion to automotive industries. With over 2,500 employees globally, AMANN’s production facilities in Europe and Asia ensure flexibility and proximity to customers, allowing the group to deliver consistent quality across all markets.

Presence in India

Since establishing its presence in India in 2007, AMANN has supported key industries, including apparel, footwear, and automotive sectors, through its offices in Chennai, Gurgaon, and Bangalore. Now, with its first manufacturing site in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu, AMANN India has expanded its capacity to meet growing market demands.

AMANN India inaugurated a cutting-edge production facility in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu, in April 2024. Covering 32,000 square meters, the plant’s initial capacity is set at 800 tons of sewing thread annually. Strategically located within India’s textile and fashion hub, the facility’s advanced technology and sustainable processes reflect AMANN’s commitment to quality and environmental responsibility.

Features of the Indian Plant:

  • Location: Ranipet/Vellore, Tamil Nadu, within the prominent “leather belt.”
  • Production Focus: High-quality sewing and embroidery threads for apparel, shoes, leather, and automotive sectors.
  • Capacity and Workforce: 32,000 square meters with 300 employees, aiming for a balanced gender ratio.

Commitment to Sustainability

AMANN’s dedication to sustainable practices is evident in its new Ranipet facility, which minimizes environmental impact and promotes responsible manufacturing. By implementing Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), the plant purifies and reuses 100% of extracted water, with only 9% fresh water added due to evaporation. Energy needs are largely met through a photovoltaic system supplemented by nearby wind and solar sources. The facility’s steam boiler for dyeing is powered by biomass, aligning with AMANN’s low-carbon footprint goals.

Sustainability Highlights:

  • Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD): Ensures no wastewater is released into the environment.
  • Renewable Energy: 100% of energy is sourced from renewables, reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
  • Eco-friendly Steam Production: Biomass-powered boilers lower emissions during thread dyeing processes.

Inclusive growth

AMANN prioritizes not only technical excellence but also employee welfare, adhering to Indian regulations and German standards. The Ranipet facility offers gender equality programs, primary healthcare services, and an on-site kindergarten to support working parents.

  • Employee Wellbeing Programs:
  • Workplace Audits: Indian regulatory and German standards guide workplace conditions.
  • Gender Equality Initiatives: Striving for a 50:50 gender ratio in the workforce.
  • In-house Support Services: AMANN offers a kindergarten, primary healthcare, and in-house technical training.

AMANN India provides extensive technical advisory services to assist customers in selecting and optimizing thread solutions. The company’s Technical Advisory Services include in-house training, material testing, and specialized analyses, with a goal of co-developing custom threads to meet individual customer needs.

Showcasing at Major Industry Events

Looking ahead to 2025, AMANN India is set to participate in the India International Leather Fair (IILF) and Bharat Tex. These exhibitions allow AMANN to present its sustainable, high-quality products tailored to the needs of the Indian textile and leather industries. The company’s participation reinforces its reputation as a forward-thinking partner to these sectors, supporting both innovation and eco-friendliness.

As AMANN Group deepens its roots in India, it continues to set new standards in sustainability, innovation, and customer satisfaction. Under Mr. Arun Mishra’s leadership, AMANN India is well-positioned to strengthen its role in India’s growing textile industry, offering sustainable solutions that resonate with the company’s global values.
