ACIMIT workshops in India evoke good response

By Ganesh Kalidasan

ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, producing more than 80 per cent of the Italian textile machinery worth 2.6 billion euros, operates in over 130 countries. Asia absorbs nearly50 per cent of its total export, followed by Europe.

The Indian textile industry is one of the leading producers and exporters of textile products and therefore one of the most important markets for textile machinery. The country is the third among Italian textile machinery importers.

“Business opportunities have multiplied, particularly in recent years, owing in part to the incentives offered by the Indian authorities to promote modernization of the local industry”, said Sandro Salmoiraghi, ACIMIT President.

To meet this growing demand for Italian textile machinery, ACIMIT recently organized two events, one each in Mumbai and Ichalkaranji. Held in accordance with Machines Italia in India and FederMacchine, the event was well received by the local textile professionals. The participants were some of the leading machinery manufactures from Italy who briefed the gathering on their latest technology proposals.

The interactive sessions were well organized with the buyers having ample time to clarify all their questions directly with the company representatives. Machinery manufacturers like Cs Automazione, Fimat, Flainox, Itema, Jaeggli Meccanotessile, Panter, Testa had their large presence.

Italian textile machinery manufacturers meet the full spectrum of industry needs (spinning, weaving, knitting, finishing and laundry machines). It’s not just the innovative high technology behind the machinery that makes the end product better, it’s the structure of the machine manufacturers.

All ACIMIT’s members are so structured as to maximize their flexibility and to be responsive to clients’ needs, with highly specialized products. Creativity, sustainable technology, reliability and quality are the main features of textile machinery made in Italy.

The workshops organized by ACIMIT are part of the “Machines Italia in India” program financed by the Ministry for Economic Development, which has entrusted the organization to the Federmacchine Group (the Federation of Italian Manufacturers of Capital Goods) and was organized by RareTech Projects Pvt. Ltd.
