To organise conference in India on May 8 & 10
The International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) will be
holding its Textile Machinery Workshop & Dinner 2012 in Milan on April
19. The event is organized in a different country every year, and the
Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) will
co-host this year’s event at its Milan headquarters.
The workshop will deal with the current status of the global textile
and textile machinery industry and its future prospects. There will be
participation in it by the ITMF Executive Board as well as a
significant number of leading textile machinery manufacturers from
around the world, especially from Italy.
“The ITMF Textile Machinery Workshop & Dinner 2012 is a unique
opportunity for high-level representatives of leading international
textile machinery companies and honorary officers of ITMF to meet and
discuss the views and expectations of the global textile and textile
machinery industries. The presentation of the preliminary results of
ITMF’s International Textile Machinery Shipment Statistics 2011 and
additional presentations provide the ideal basis for in-depth
discussions and analyses”, says Mr. Bashir Ali Mohammad, ITMF
President.
Mr. Sandro Salmoiraghi, ACIMIT President, commented: “It’s important
to have events such as these where different operators in the textile
sector can meet to discuss and find solutions to the issues facing
global markets. We’re absolutely delighted to be hosting this ITMF
initiative, and we’re certain that it will provide many of our
manufacturers participating with an opportunity to draw comparisons
with the world’s most prominent textile players.”
Hosting the workshop also provides ACIMIT with an opportunity to give
substance to its recent decision to join ITMF as an associated member.
“ACIMIT gives priority to developing more frequent relations with all
of the different players in the textile sector,” says Mr. Salmoiraghi.
“At a global level, Italy’s textile machinery industry is one of the
major partners for many textile manufacturers. Virtually every country
with a textile manufacturing presence has Italian machinery installed
in its factories. Thanks to the development of these relationships, we
can strengthen Italy’s leadership position as a technology supplier in
the textile industry.”
ACIMIT represents around 300 companies employing close to 12,400
people and producing machinery for an overall value of about 2.7
billion euros, with exports amounting to 80 per cent of total sales.
The quality of Italian textile technology is evidenced by the high
number of countries in which Italian machinery is sold: around 130
countries worldwide.
Creativity, technology, reliability and quality are the
characteristics which have made Italy a global leader in manufacturing
textile machinery.
Founded in 1904 and headquartered in Zurich, ITMF is an international
association for the world’s textile industries, dedicated to keeping
its worldwide membership constantly informed through surveys, studies
and publications and through organization of annual conferences and
meetings, participating in the evolution of the industry’s value chain
and publishing considered opinions on the future trends and
international developments.
India Conference
ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, is
organizing two important workshops in Mumbai and Ichalkaranji,
reflecting Italian response to strong demand for technology by the
Indian textile industry.
India is the world’s second largest market in terms of value for
textile machinery imports amounting to 1.11 billion euros. Italian
technology is especially in demand. In fact, 133 million euros worth
of Italian textile machinery was sold to India in 2011, a 19 per cent
increase compared to the previous year.
“Our companies have been observing developments in India for some time
now,” states Sandro Salmoiraghi, ACIMIT President. “Business
opportunities have multiplied, particularly in recent years, owing in
part to the incentives set by the Indian authorities to promote
modernization of the local industry.”
To meet this growing demand for ‘Made in Italy’ textile machinery,
ACIMIT is organizing two important workshops with Indian textile
manufacturers. Mumbai and Ichalkaranji will play host the workshops to
be held on May 8 and 10, at which various Italian machinery
manufacturers will be presenting their latest technology proposals.
The Italian machinery manufacturers taking part in them include
Canalair, Cs Automazione, Fimat, Flainox, Itema, Jaeggli
Meccanotessile, Ptmt, Smit and Testa.
The ACIMIT workshops are part of the “Machines Italia in India”
program financed by the Ministry for Economic Development, which has
entrusted the organization to the Federation of Italian Manufacturers
of Capital Goods.
“Machines Italia in India” is an initiative aimed at supporting the
internationalization activities of businesses in the sector, which is
currently experiencing most intense economic development anywhere in
the globe.
Creativity, technology, reliability and quality
are the basic factors that contribute to Italy emerging a global
leader in textile machinery manufacturing.
