AB Reiniger lays strong foundation for long-term growth

Welker and Reiniger are real partners in progress

It’s been a little over 15 months since AB Reiniger began operations. Started by Mr. R. Anbazhahan, the company has established credible presence across India within a very short period. The company is a classic example of the spirit of entrepreneurship that Coimbatore is known for.

AB Reiniger started with a single product, namely, over-head travelling cleaners (OHTCs). Mr. Anbazhahan has over 20 years of experience in selling OHTCs and was quick to understand that the segment was highly competitive and could not sustain with a single product. By March 2013, he signed a collaborative agreement with Welker of Germany, and by June 2013 he supplied the first yarn conditioning plant (YCP) manufactured locally.

Mr. Claus Koch, President and CEO of the Welker Group, said: “In India, our partner AB Reiniger has demonstrated its competence with an impressive sales and manufacturing performance. Under the supervision of our Chief Manufacturing Officer, the first Welker- ReinigerVapofix120 machines were delivered in 2013, and more deliveries were made thereafter. The Vapofix120 is a true multi-purpose machine applicable for any kind of yarns. In the years to come, the range of products will be amplified and continuous improvement will take place. We look forward to continuing this trustful cooperation that has started so well.”

Today with over 450 OHTCs and 12 YCPs already installed and running successfully across India, AB Reiniger has become a name to reckon in the respective product segments. Having established a strong presence for OHTCs and YCPs, the company has also extended its product range to offer bobbin transportation systems (BTS). With increasing levels of automation in spinning, BTS has become a must for the new generation spin frames. AB Reiniger has already executed a few BTS projects for some major projects.

AB Reiniger has executed semi-automated BTS in GRV Spintex, the totel system runs for two km in length, and at Shivdhara Spinners which again runs for nearly 1.2 km in length in the Rajkot area. The company has also executed manual BTS in Oritto Polyfab near Ahmedabad and Bhuvaneshwari Cotspin near Kangeyam in Tamil Nadu. There are few more semi-automated BTS which are under execution, like Jolley Spinning Mills and Akshar Spintex in Gujarat.

To further strengthen the company’s management team, AB Reiniger has recently appointed a Senior textile industry professional. Mr. Anbazhahan, Managing Director, AB Reiniger, says: “I am glad to inform that Mr. G. Balasubramanian has joined as Director of AB Reiniger. Mr. Balasubramanian is a Textile Engineer with over 30 years’ experience having worked with Rieter and Voltas. He is a highly respected person in the textile industry and we are honored and privileged to have him part of our team. We are confident that his experience and guidance will add great value to our organization and to all our customers”.

AB Reiniger has set up a manufacturing plant in Coimbatore with CNC machines for manufacturing all critical components. The company works with the best component suppliers without compromising on the quality and performance of the machines. In OHTCs, AB Reiniger is among the top 3 brands in India and is working on further improving the quality and performance of its machines. One of the early breakthroughs for AB Reiniger was with Arvind Mills in which the company has installed over 120 OHTCs till date.

In YCPs, AB Reiniger is currently offering the cylindrical type machine, with Welker technology. Although the cylindrical type YCPs are most common in India, globally the market is moving towards large capacity, fully automated cubical type YCPs. Welker is the global leader in this segment and has offered such cubical type machines with capacity of upto 6,000 kg (130 tons per day) compared to the standard cylindrical type which has capacity of 1,500 to 2,000 kg per batch of production.

“Following our strategy of specialization and competence, as in the years before, the year of 2014 has developed positively for WELKER in almost all markets. Our sales force was quite successful demonstrating our strengths in economy of energy and water and customer suited solutions. In co-operation with our American partners we successfully started the largest double size conditioner world wide”, says Mr. Koch.

AB Reiniger, along with the Welker team, is already talking to some of the large spinning projects in India for automated, large capacity cubical plants. Welker is quite pleased with its co-operation with AB Reiniger in India and is looking to further engage with customers. “The success has been beyond our expectations”, adds Mr. Anbazhahan.

It’s been an incredible growth story for a company which is just 15 months old. AB Reiniger has made all the right moves and got all the right people to be associated with. It will be interesting to see how the company leverages on this position and propels its future growth.
