With over seven decades of presence in the Indian textile industry, A.T.E. is steadily expanding its operations across borders and is strengthening its presence in Bangladesh. The company has been operating in this market for over 20 years directly from India. Identifying the market opportunity, and with the intention to service its customers and principals better, the company decided to establish a fully-owned subsidiary, A.T.E. Technologies (Bangladesh) Private Ltd. (ATETBPL), in 2005.
Mr. Vikas Sharan, Vice President, says: “We had to start afresh in Bangladesh as many of our principals we represent in India already had their presence in that country with local agents. Setting up of ATETBPL has provided an opportunity to be closer to the Bangladesh market and underlines A.T.E.’s commitment to serve its customers in Bangladesh even better. Today, this has helped A.T.E. serve more customers and has also helped in adding new principals for this market”.
Backed by seven decades of experience in textile engineering in India, the company has been catering to the Bangladesh market for several years, offering latest technology machines and accessories from renowned manufacturers around the world with a range of spinning, processing and knitting machinery and accessories. It thus offers the convenience of a single source for various machinery, accessories and spares requirements, backed by its expertise in textile technology and processes and its excellent services.
“Our Director Mr. Aras laid the foundation for our growth in this region, and we have established strong relationship with all major textile houses in Bangladesh. Till 2009, we were trying to consolidate. It was in 2009-10 that we started representing many of the Indian and global principals in Bangladesh. Today, in most of the new agreements we are representing the companies in India and Bangladesh. Currently we have more than 15 principals for Bangladesh market”, adds Mr. Sharan.
ATETBPL represents in Bangladesh various principals of international repute from Europe, India and China in the domains of textile engineering, flow technology and clean technology. Some of the major principals represented include Zinser for roving frames, Oerlikon Saurer for TFOs, ElGiElectric for OHTCs, YCS and BTS, TeraSpin for spindles, drafting systems and top rollers, SKAAT for slub yarn and multi-count attachments for ring frames, MAG Solvics for testing equipments, Pilotelli for circular knitting machines, Eliar Elektromanic for automatic color and chemical weighing and dispensing systems, to name a few.
A.T.E. has its Bangladesh operations based out of Dhaka. It has its strong presence in the spinning segment and is gradually increasing its presence in the garment segment and die house automation. The recent acquisition of SKF Textile component business, now Tera Spin, will give it a real breakthrough with many customers.
A.T.E. has been witnessing an annual growth of 10-15 per cent and expects the growth to continue in the years to come. “We are here to stay. We will work with the local customers and provide the same quality of service and support that A.T.E. is known for in the Indian market”, says Mr. Sharan.
