A.T.E. Enterprises has been further strengthening its spinning and accessories business with the addition of new products and principals. The company’s flagship joint venture with Truetzschler has had a phenomenal year in 2014 with record sales of more than 830 carding machines. “This has been one of the best years we have ever had”, says Mr. Laxmikant Rathi, Vice President – Spinning Accessories & Exports, A.T.E. Enterprises.
Participating in the Texfair show in Coimbatore, Mr. Rathi said: “Overall, 2014 has been a good year, except for the last quarter. But positive sentiments are picking up, and we expect 2015 should be good for the industry as most of the other countries are faced with their own problems. India seems to be well placed at this point to take advantage of the future growth opportunities, both in the domestic and export markets”.
Referring to the success of Truetzschler’s Indian operations, he said over 800 machines have been sold mainly in the Indian domestic market. This shows the growing demand for the company machines and its preparedness to deliver as per market demand.
Compact yarn is one of the growing high-value yarn segments that spinners are increasingly vying for, so as to succeed in a competitive yarn market. Realising the huge potential for compact yarn, A.T.E. tied up with Ningbo Dechang Precision Textile Machinery Co. Ltd. of China to bring a range of quality retrofit compact spinning systems to Indian spinners.
Mr. Rathi said: “We were looking for a reliable and technologically advanced compact retrofit system that can produce high quality compact yarn, which we have found in the Dechang compact system. This partnership will bring the best technology to the Indian compact yarn market”.
Over three million spindles with Dechang’s compact yarn system are running successfully worldwide. In India, A.T.E. has already tested the Dechang products in many leading spinning mills across the country, and the response has been very encouraging. “We have replaced some of the old European compact systems with Dechang in Vardhman, and there has been a big change in the quality and performance, particularly power consumption. We are also using ABB inverters”, adds Mr. Rathi.
A.T.E. now maintains stock of critical and important components like lattice aprons, suction tubes and gear box assemblies for the compact yarn system across India, including at its office in Coimbatore.
Teraspin
Teraspin is A.T.E.’s new baby. The company launched the Teraspin brand in 2012 after acquiring the business from SKF in 2011. “I am happy to say that we have very well established the Teraspin brand in the market. We have significantly improved the quality and performance of the products and are now supplying to LMW. Recently, we bagged an order from Electrojet and have also started supplying to a few major OEMs in China”.
Within a short span of time, A.T.E. has established its strong presence for Teraspin both in the domestic and overseas markets. With reputed OEMs approving the product, its acceptability among customers is only bound to increase.
With the addition of new principals and strengthening of the existing products, A.T.E. is looking forward to a good 2015 for its spinning and accessories business unit.
