Sri Amman Textiles is a leading manufacturer of cotton and grey fabrics in India. With in-house spinning, warping, sizing, and weaving capabilities, Sri Amman is well-known among garment and home textile producers in both domestic as well as international markets.
We caught up with Mr P Gokul, Managing Director, Sri Amman, to talk about their experience with A.T.E. sales and KARL MAYER’s PROSIZE.
What helped you decide on A.T.E. and KARL MAYER as your business partners?
We met with the A.T.E. team when we were in search of warp preparation machines for our new weaving shed. We had a good impression about A.T.E. compared to others – the A.T.E. team was able to answer all our technical questions and clear all our doubts. We finalised the first set of KARL MAYER PROSIZE machines in 2016 and were happy with the smoothness of installation and training. Our production estimates were conservative, but once we began production the actual warp production was well above our expectations! Furthermore, the weaving efficiency also improved drastically.
How would you describe your experience with the KARL MAYER PROSIZE sizing machines?
We are quite impressed with the performance of the PROSIZE machine and the continuous improvement of the PROSIZE technology by KARL MAYER. This has given us the confidence to order more machines; in fact, we have a total of three PROSIZE sizing machines in production and are happy as they suit our purposes very well.
Our production team is very happy with the advanced control system of the new PROSIZE machine as it helps us achieve reproducible warp qualities. Additionally, KARL MAYER drying cylinders are long lasting and energy efficient.
Thanks to the PROSIZE we have been able to improve our product lines and supply our customers with high quality fabrics.
What key feature and/or benefit of the PROSIZE do you appreciate the most?
With PROSIZE we are able to realise a saving of 10% in size add-on. KARL MAYER’s algorithm-based, self-adjusting SoftDry technology is helping us produce softer yarn with less elongation. Also, the higher speed of the new PROSIZE machine is instrumental in helping us produce more beams.
How has PROSIZE technology evolved in the last 5 years?
With the new PROSIZE sizing machine, our production has improved by a good 25% compared to our 1st PROSIZE machine. This has helped us feed a greater number of looms with consistent warp quality.
